About Me - Shantal Frisbie
It’s me again!
How did I get started in fitness? Both of my parents were bodybuilders back in the 80s, and both of them taught me how to lift when I was a teenager. The gym became a place not just to build muscle, but to enjoy my body, challenge myself, build a community, and prioritize my health. I moved from bodybuilding to powerlifting to calisthenics, and today I incorporate all three into my own training depending on my goals. For my clients, I use integrative training to make sure you are getting a well-rounded program. We’ll focus on your main goals, but also improve your mobility, balance, and strength along the way.
The gym is only one part of fitness though. The main reason I work out at the gym is so I can explore the world and feel confident in my body. From hiking and rock climbing to helping friends move, strength and mobility is a fundamental part of daily life.
I’ve spent the last five years working in the medical industry as a program manager for clinician continuing education, and through my role I’ve personally spoken to over 300 nurse practitioners and physician assistants in primary care. It’s been a privilege to work with and help so many incredible medical professionals, and over the years one thing has continually risen to the surface: lifestyle is everything when it comes to health.
I’ve seen firsthand what happens when health is not prioritized, but the good news is that our health and wellbeing is largely in our hands. Simple habits, lifestyle choices, and changes in our environment are so incredibly important for our health that I can’t possibly capture it in one sentence. I’m excited to be able to help people make a difference on an individual level, and I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
Session by session, habit by habit, you will reap the benefits of making your fitness and health a priority.
